The Passion, the Resurrection and the Mission
Christ’s Passion is not merely an introduction to the Resurrection; it is its very root. Through voluntary humiliation, mockery, the Cross and death, true life emerges. The Resurrection does not abolish pain, but transforms it. It sanctifies it. That is why whoever suffers in Christ already tastes the Resurrection.
But the Resurrection is not an end; it is a beginning. From the empty Tomb begins the Church’s journey to the ends of the world. Mission is born from the light of the Resurrection. “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…”: this is the exhortation of the Risen Lord. Where the Resurrection is proclaimed, there Hope is established.
The Orthodox Missionary Fraternity participates in this miracle: it walks the path of Passion, lives the joy of the Resurrection, and journeys together with missionaries and our indigenous brothers and sisters with self-sacrifice and faith.
We sincerely wish that this Holy Easter, the Lord will make us partakers of this life, witnesses of the Cross and apostles of the Resurrection.
Blessed Resurrection!
Christ is Risen!
