A new ordination in Bogotá
On August 3, 2025, a day filled with joy and blessing for the Orthodox community of Colombia, the ordination of Fr. Ieronymos (Jose) Fernando Quintero as a presbyter took place in Bogotá, Colombia.
The sacred mystery was officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Iakovos of Mexico, in an atmosphere of reverence and spiritual exultation. The ordination took place at the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Bogotá, in the presence of the local community who gathered to pray together at this significant moment.
The new presbyter, Fr. Ieronymos Fernando Quintero, undertakes the sacred work of pastoral care for the faithful in the region, strengthening the presence of the Orthodox Church in Latin America, where, despite difficulties and challenges, it continues to take root and grow, offering spiritual support to the people.
The Orthodox Missionary Fraternity is particularly pleased with this development, as it has known Fr. Ieronymos for years and has supported him in his theological studies at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
