The New Website of the Accredited Orthodox University of Congo

With the commencement of classes for the new academic year at the Orthodox University of Congo, the Holy Metropolis of Kinshasa is pleased to announce the launch of the new website for this unique Orthodox Academic Institution, which falls under the jurisdiction of the ancient Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa. The University operates under the blessing and paternal care of Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria, Theodoros.

The impetus for the creation of the website was the last meeting of His Eminence Metropolitan Theodosius of Kinshasa with the teaching staff of the University’s School of Theology. Among the decisions made was the enhancement of the University’s outreach and the creation of a website, so that the Institution could establish a modern online presence. The Fraternity of Orthodox Mission undertook the funding, overall support, and collection of information and necessary material, recognizing the importance and crucial role of the School in spreading missionary work and strengthening the prestige of Orthodoxy on the African continent.

The website operates in three languages (French, Greek, and English) at universiteorthodoxe.org and contains a detailed history of the University’s founding and recognition, a description of the study programs, information about the teaching staff, and other useful details.
