24th Spiritual Symposium for Saint Cosmas of Aetolia in Halkidiki
The 24th Spiritual Symposium was successfully held at the Holy Monastery of Saint Cosmas of Aetolia, located in Arnaia, Halkidiki, 75 kilometers east of Thessaloniki.
The two-day symposium (August 23-24, 2025) had as its central theme “Internal Mission: Resistance to Decline, guided by Patrokosmas.” Invited speakers were Bishop Chrysostomos of Bukoba, Bishop Sophronios of Polystylos, and Fr. George Schoinas, parish priest of the Holy Church of Saint Nicholas Philopappou and assistant in the missionary work in Bukoba, Western Tanzania. The president of the Orthodox External Mission Fraternity, Charalambos Metallidis, was also present and delivered a greeting on behalf of the Fraternity.
The symposium was held as part of the festive events commemorating the national martyr Saint Cosmas of Aetolia, in which a large number of faithful participated.
