Presentations on Orthodox Missions at a Thessaloniki Middle School
A presentation titled “Orthodox External Mission: Bridges of Culture and Solidarity” was successfully held for three classes of the 3rd grade at the 4th Middle School of Charilaou, as part of their Religious Studies course.
A representative of the Orthodox Missionary Fraternity presented to the young students the multifaceted work of Orthodox missionaries around the world. During the presentation, selected audiovisual material from Madagascar, Indonesia, and Tanzania was shown, giving students the opportunity to learn about the diversity of conditions and cultural contexts in which the religious and social work of Orthodox missionaries takes place.
A special emphasis was placed on how the Mission interacts with different cultures, while simultaneously contributing to addressing significant social problems such as poverty, illiteracy, and lack of medical care.

The students showed keen interest in the activities of the Fraternity and were impressed by the different social realities they learned about. Finally, they bid us farewell with a sense of gratitude for the goods they enjoy in their daily lives, as they realized that many things we take for granted in Greece are sought after by millions of people worldwide.
