An iconographer benefactor of the Mission

Among the benefactors of our Missionary Diocese is the pious Iconographer Mr. Dimitris Sotirkos, economist and member of the Board of Directors of the Orthodox Missionary Fraternity.

Mr. Sotirkos, every time I pass by the Offices of the Fraternity in Thessaloniki, loads me with his iconography on canvas, which can be easily transported by air to Tanzania, mounted on wood and placed on the Iconostasis of our new Churches.

Four new churches have already been completed and Mr. Sotirkos’ iconography adorns their iconostases.

His Beatitude our Patriarch honored him for this contribution with the Cross of the Apostle Mark, which was presented to him at the event for the Mission on 10/12/2023.

Mr. Sotirkos’ contribution proves that help for the Mission can be provided in various ways. Love for our Lord and God and the desire to spread Orthodoxy throughout the world is inventive!
