A new well for the people of Kisumu

Dear friends of the Mission,

Christ is risen!

With wholehearted joy, I convey cordial greetings from our humble Diocese of Kisumu and Western Kenya to the blessed Orthodox Missionary Fraternity in Thessaloniki. I write to you with deepest gratitude for the love, generosity, and spiritual support you offered me during my first episcopal pastoral visit to your beloved country, Greece, the mother of our faith.

Thessaloniki will forever remain etched in my heart and in my mission. During my visit, I was privileged to meet the living faith of your people through monasteries, the Metropolitan Center, parishes, and families who welcomed me with warmth and brotherly love. I truly experienced the beauty of Orthodoxy in its fullness.

One of the most remarkable fruits of this journey was the construction of a borehole at our Diocesan Center and for the surrounding community. This project is of immeasurable value to us, for water is life. Thanks to your generosity, we now have clean drinking water at our disposal, a blessing that will enhance the operation of our Diocesan Center and help our neighbors. Your effort is not in vain; it is a living testimony of Christian love in action. May the Lord reward you abundantly.

Dear friends of the Orthodox Missionary Fraternity, I will never forget how you held my hand in the first steps of my episcopal mission in Kisumu. Your solidarity strengthened me and gave hope to our Diocese. I humbly ask that we continue to walk together in this sacred mission, united in faith and love, for the glory of God and the building up of His Holy Church.

May the Lord bless each one of you, your families, and your community. May God bless the Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki and keep it a beacon of hope. May He also bless the Orthodox Church of Greece, which continues to shine as a beacon of faith and tradition for the entire Orthodox world.

Philip of Kisumu
