Educational visit of high school students to the Fraternity

Shortly before the Christmas holidays, our Fraternity welcomed third-grade students from the 2nd General High School of Echedoros, who visited our facilities in the center of Thessaloniki, as part of the “Active Citizen Actions” and their Religious Studies course.

The students were informed about the Fraternity’s long-standing charitable and missionary work in countries of sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, Oceania, and Latin America, and showed particular interest in this intercultural experience.

They then toured the Fraternity’s African Art Exhibition, where they had the opportunity to see handicrafts, masks, musical instruments, Ethiopian hagiographies, and animal skins from Africa up close.

Afterward, the students departed to visit the early Christian basilica of Saint Demetrius, the patron saint of Thessaloniki.

We thank the teachers and the school administration for this initiative. The Orthodox Missionary Fraternity remains open to similar educational visits that promote acquaintance with missionary work and African culture.
