Event: “50 Years of Missionary Christian Witness in Africa”
The Orthodox External Mission Fraternity, continuing its collaboration with the Department of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, co-organizes an event with His Eminence Metropolitan Elder Makarios of Nairobi as speaker, on Monday, December 15, at 10:00 AM, in the Second Amphitheater of the School of Theology.
The event is open to the public.
Metropolitan Makarios is an emblematic figure of contemporary missionary work in Africa. A spiritual child of Saint Sophrony of Essex and a close correspondent for many years of the pioneering missionary Saint Chrysostomos Papasarantopoulos, he conveys a precious spiritual legacy and 5 decades of experience from the “field” of missionary witness.
We express our warm thanks to Professor Petros Panagiotopoulos and Dr. Nikolaos Tsirevelos (EDIP) for their valuable contribution to the organization of this lecture, within the framework of the courses “Pastoral Theology”, “Contemporary Trends in Mission” and “Evangelism & Re-evangelism in the Modern World”.
