For years we have been preparing to write Orthodox books. These books are usually requested by people who want to learn more about Orthodoxy. So far we have very few books printed in Indonesian. We need to print some new books that we have written.

Representatives from all our communities came to the city of Medan. We were very happy because we had the opportunity to get together again. Our believers received much strength and direction for the continuation of the mission in this region…

One of our students named Savvas Marcelino, who comes from the independent country of East Timor, will finish his studies at our St. Paul Theological School and now he is ready to return with his wife to Dili, the capital city of East Timor. Any possible help will be greatly appreciated so that the Orthodox faith can reach this new country…
The situation in Indonesia is not good, because Muslim fanatics have risen up and want to implement sharia law throughout Indonesia. People do not want them because we have many tribes and religions here. They have done too many attacks, they have burned churches, they have bombed Christian properties…

It is a great blessing for us that our Orthodox Church in Indonesia is gaining another minister. Fr. Chariton comes from this island and is a graduate of our Theological School. Also, his elder is also a graduate of our seminary and has a diploma in education. They have a girl, whose name is Eugenia. Fr. Chariton will be ministering in Nias because we have three communities there. Also, the St. Nicholas Orthodox School operates there with 135 students…

A year ago, the Rev. One year ago, the Bishop of Singapore, Constantine, ordained a deacon on the island. Apart from the three parishes where he serves, he is also the principal of our school “St. Nicholas”. This deacon is Fr. Chariton Zega, who is newly married and has a baby girl. I pray to Almighty God that he will also become a priest, so that he can serve there with all the necessary rites….
