However, it is necessary to operate an ophthalmological unit for the treatment of ophthalmological diseases since there are many cases in contrast to the medical state care provided.
Dear Sir, President and members of the Orthodox Foreign Missionary Brotherhood, hail in the Lord.
It is a fact that it is not easy at all here, in this place where we are, to take the time to write a few words to the people who really love him, but who I really love, although our soul seeks this communication with you, with all of you, anonymously as a matter of fact, you help and work in the vineyard called the Foreign Mission, ignoring the factor of “distance”, since for the true servant of God there are indeed no distances of reason but of the Lord and Commander of all things in the universal world. However, we must sometimes forget any difficulties and let the pen move effortlessly over the letters and “inform” for the good of the Church and for the glory of the Triune God.
Through this letter I would like to inform you that in the southern part of our country, Madagascar, we have already completed the building works of another polyclinic for the relief of our sick brothers and sisters in the area of the city of Toliar. The polyclinic which is procedurally almost ready to function has been suitably equipped to deal with pathological diseases, dental care, first aid cases and pharmaceutical support. However, it is considered necessary to open an ophthalmological unit for the treatment of ophthalmological diseases, as the number of cases is not low, in contrast to the medical care provided by the state.
The cost of the equipment necessary to create such a unit is 8.000 €.
Due to the general financial crisis, the completion of the ophthalmology is considered impossible from our side. We are appealing for a donor who could help to complete this work.
We richly wish God’s grace and blessing to all of you who are striving for the material support of our work.
God be with you. With the love of Christ,
Ignatius of Madagascar
