Missionary news from Indonesia

Medan – Indonesia 7 May 2011

My dear and revered brothers and sisters, Christ is risen! With God’s help and mercy we are well. I would like to convey to your love news from our Orthodox Mission in Indonesia.

I recently found a field of about 20 acres for sale and the cost of this is 12,500 euros. Please, my brothers, please attend to this request of mine to find a donor. This purchase will not only cover the expenses when I go there, but I will also be able to help with soup kitchens for the poor children of these communities, and we will also be able to send them to the School at the expense of our Mission

New Holy Temple in Pargambiran

  • On April 7, 2011 we laid the foundation stone for the construction of the new Church of the Annunciation in the village of Pargambiran. We thank you with all our hearts for the expenses of the construction of the Holy Church, which were provided by an anonymous donor through the Orthodox Foreign Missionary Brotherhood. I am posting some photos of the construction of this Holy Temple.

Registration in schools

  • At the end of April 2011 we will be registering new students in all our Schools. Pray that our good God will send us good and well-behaved children to our Schools.

The Mission Farms

  • In our mission we have some boarding schools where 68 children live. To meet their daily needs we created a small farm and now we have 20 piglets.
  • In our community of St. John Ramonia a year ago, Fr. Nicholas Marquez from Sydney, Australia gave us a sum of money and we bought land to plant rice. Now this arable land is very useful and covers some of the expenses of the mission.
  • Now we have two new communities, St. Ephraim in Lae Rias and the community of the Annunciation in Pargambiran, which are close to each other. I am thinking that their arable lands are fertile and it will be good to plant corn and various vegetables. I think this will ease our expenses because I often visit these areas. New Holy Temple in Hiligeo

6. We thank you very much for the efforts you have constantly put in, and with your help a great benefactor has been found to bear the expenses for the construction of the Holy Temple in Hiligeo, Nias. I informed the people of this region and they were very happy because a merciful and pious doctor from Thessaloniki has undertaken the expenses for the completion of the Holy Temple on the distant island of the Indian Ocean, Nias.
