Your Excellency, Mr. President, hail in the Lord! With God’s help, we are well. Thank God! We had a very nice Easter in Indonesia. How did you have a good time, my brothers? My brothers and sisters I would like to share some burdens that the Mission has here in Indonesia.
- 5 years ago, I founded a Theological School in Indonesia and it has been recognized by the government. Last November we had the first graduation. Now it is time to renew the license of the Theological School at the end of August 2009. The government has asked us to have at least 5000 books in the library of the School. The books we have now are only 1000. Of course we can buy books here in Indonesia but we do not have enough money to make it happen. We have a plan to buy the books. We will try to raise the money until the middle of August 2009, buy them and then we will apply for the renewal of our theological school to the Indonesian government.
- Now we have a sister here in Indonesia and God willing we will start to build a convent for women. Sister Agnes has been learning the monastic life at the Kato Panagia Monastery in Arta for five years.
- On May 3, 2009 we celebrated the baptism of John Imanuel Simurat and Constantina Yestinta Purba at the St. Demetrios Medan Church.
- On May 12, 2009, the first Orthodox Christian I baptized 10 years ago, Mr. Konstantinos (my father in the flesh) passed away. His funeral was held on Friday in the village of Siparbue. This is our news, my brothers.
With many best wishes
