A new well for the people of Kisumu

Dear friends of the Missions,

Christ is Risen!

With heartfelt joy, 1 convey cordial greetings from our humble Diocese of Kisumu and ΑΙΙ Western Kenya to the blessed Greek Orthodox Mίssίonary Fraternίty ίn Thessalonίki. Ι wrίte to you with deep gratitude for the love, generosity, and spiritual support you extended to me during my first-ever episcopal pastoral visit to your beloved country, Greece – the mother of our faith.

The city of Thessalonίki will forever remain etched in my heart and mission. Durίng my visit, Ι was privileged to encounter the living faith of your people through monasteries, the metropolis centre, parishes, and famίlies who welcomed me with warmth and brotherly love. Truly, 1 experienced the beauty of Orthodoxy in its fullness.

One of the most remarkable fruits of this journey was the construction of a borehole at our dίocesan centre and for the surroundίng communίty. This project is of immeasurable value to us, for water is life. Through your generosity, we now have clean drinking water at our fιngertips, a blessing that will enhance service at our diocese centre and assist our neighbours. Your effort is not in vain; it is a living testimony of Christian love in action. May the Lord reward you abundantly.

Dear Thessaloniki Mίssίon Fraternity, Ι will never forget how you held my hand at the very beginning of my episcopal mission in Kίsumu. Your solidarίty has strengthened me and gίven hope to our diocese. Ι humbly request that we continue to walk together in this sacred mission, united in faith and love, for the glory of God and the edification of His Holy Church.

May the Lord bless each of you, your families, and your community. May God bless the Metropolis of Thessaloniki keep on shinning as a beacon of hope. May He also bless the Orthodoχ Church of Greece, whίch contίnues to shίne as a beacon of faίth and tradition for the entire Orthodox world,

With love in Christ

Bishop Philippos of Kisumu
