Drilling Operation at the Holy Apostles Orthodox Monastery in Tsamboula

In the Resurrection period that we are going through, I am pleased to be contacting you in order to express on behalf of the entire Sisterhood of our Holy Monastery and Humbleness our heartfelt gratitude to your Charitable Association for your noble donation of 5,000 euro, which is part of the total expenditure for borehole drilling conducted in our Holy Monastery

We would also like to inform you that the work for finding water has been successfully completed, so now our Holy Monastery has plenty of water that covers our needs both for drinking water and for the cultivation of our gardens and greenhouses. As we have informed you before, this cultivation is also our main occupation for finding resources to meet our multiple needs. It is, so to speak, our “handiwork” according to the terminology of the Holy Mount Athos monks, from which we save a part for our living expenses.

But beyond that, the sufficiency of drinking water also has a social dimension, because it also serves the residents of the nearby village of Tsampoula; these people come with large jerrycans to get it, free of charge of course.

Naturally, we often have queues formed by women and children waiting patiently for quite some time until their turn comes. We are also given the opportunity for some spiritual counseling in order to support them in their struggle.

Please, my brothers, pray for the success of the work of our Holy Monastery, but also for the consolidation of monasticism in the African Continent, which is still in its infancy and needs a lot of toil and sweat and God’s Grace for its rise.
