The Mission in Eastern Tanzania
On Sunday 14/1 the meeting of the Brotherhood of the Orthodox Foreign Mission took place with the guest Metropolitan Demetrios of Irinople, who spoke about the reality of the mission in the southeastern parts of Tanzania.
His Eminence reviewed his 20-year course as Bishop of Tanzania, which was distinguished by great charitable activity for the people of the region.
Over the years, dozens of churches have been built, wells have been dug in the heartlands of Tanzania, and schools and clinics have been built for the salvation of the people.
Missionary activity in this region, which is predominantly populated by Muslims, is undetected, with the result that tens of thousands of people have converted to Orthodoxy.
