Joy and excitement in Ghana

The youth camp of our Metropolis was a great success again this year. More than 150 children participated in various activities – educational (catechism, social formation), liturgical, cultural.

The congregation of our Cathedral of the Resurrection of the Lord in Abidjan also experienced happy moments as on Sunday 22 October, our Chaplain and Archpriest Commissioner there, Father Jeremiah, baptized eight children of various ages.

An additional joy and emotion was given to us by the ordination of the reverend Barnabe Koyo from Abidjan as Deacon. We celebrated the Holy Sacrament on Sunday, November 12, at the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Christ the Saviour in Accra. Our new Deacon, married with three children, will for now be working with Father Jeremiah in Abidjan. Father Jeremiah is his spiritual father and has also taken over his guidance. We hope he will soon become an elder! At the same Mass we honored Fr. Irene Opoku Ayeh for his contribution to the Church, to encourage him to always be an example to be emulated to his brothers and sisters.

We hope that God will always give us such joys!

I wish, on the occasion of your 60th anniversary, that God will give you many years of fruitfulness.

Your humble partner
in the Vineyard of the Lord
