A mental journey to the heart of Eastern Uganda was made by the friends of the Orthodox Foreign Missionary Brotherhood, who attended the March 12, 2023 event.
The Bishop of Jinja, Mr. Silvestros (Kisitu) presented the progress of the mission in the newly established diocese of Eastern Uganda and the development of the Orthodox presence in the country in general.
He particularly stressed that Uganda is the mother of the mission in sub-Saharan Africa, as the first two Orthodox missionaries Fr Nicodemus Sarikas and Fr Chrysostomos Papasarantopoulos were active here.
Finally, he stressed the urgent need for the reconstruction of schools and new churches in the Orthodox communities of the region and asked for the help of all of us.
