Most young people, especially in remote areas, are forced to leave the places where they were born and raised. In the hope of finding a better future, they arrive in the big cities. Such a young man of today’s history from a young age loved the Orthodox Church, from which he learned many things: honesty, discipline, modesty and so much more. While in Nairobi, looking for a job that would help him in his future career, as he was walking and monologuing, he suddenly saw a car driving around with irregular turns and movements. He immediately ran after it and, in spite of the danger of being injured, skilfully tried to get in front and succeeded in stopping it. To his great surprise he noticed that the driver had lost consciousness and the car was moving without control. He immediately acted without delay to save the unknown driver, as an experienced driver himself. Here it should be said that the Church helped him to go to a driving school and he knew the art of driving.
With great care, seeing the condition of the driver, he arrived at the nearest hospital, where he immediately called the First Aid to look after the unfortunate driver. And so he did. They immediately took him to the emergency room, having found that his state of health was serious, and in a few hours were able to restore him to a point where he could somewhat speak. When he saw who surrounded him, he asked to see that unknown young man who saved his life. They were all surprised because they thought it was his driver. He didn’t even know the name of the man who saved his life at the last moment. In fact, he was soon brought in and everyone was surprised when the young man himself in turn said his name. Everyone was astonished and began to comment when they discovered the story of this gentleman and the unknown youth. The gentleman asked him if he was employed, and, when he revealed that he was looking for work, he announced without delay that from that time on he was his permanent and official guide. The young man, disturbed by the result of this meeting, confessed that he had helped him, not for the sake of being paid, but because he felt that he had to save the life of a fellow human being who would otherwise have lost his life. In fact, this gentleman embraced him, thanking him for his altruistic act. He stayed close to him and when his wife and children came to visit him, he announced, officially, that their family had a new member.
In the face of this so true and at the same time shocking story, we see and touch the magnitude of the value of such acts and discover that, in the end, our efforts are not wasted. We see that our words and the actions that accompany them to convince people, especially young people, bear rich fruit. This young man is at this moment with the family of the family of the stranger who saved his life with his action. He is enjoying so much happiness, because by his act he has kept high morals, ethics, honesty, sincerity, honesty, humility, the things I teach young people every day. He rejoices, with the people of his tribe and family, in that for which he had been searching for so many years: a job, an occupation for the earthly bread. And he found it in a way so miraculous and – why not – by the intervention and design of God!
