Creating the stepping stone of learning

Dear Mr. President and dear members of the Brotherhood,

A trip to the Congolese jungle holds great emotions, created by the natives and ragged children we meet on the roads as we pass through the many villages with grass huts.

I am very pleased to inform you that the works in the town of Gungu, located about 700 km southwest of the Congolese capital Kinshasa, are on their final course. Last Thursday 23 August, we visited the town.

We watched the progress of the works of the Holy Church of the Annunciation and the construction of the School. On Thursday as well as on Friday morning the appropriate instructions were given for the completion of the works.

We found out that an effort is being made by the employees to complete these two projects as soon as possible.

In principle, to complete the school and the internal equipment, it is estimated that at least 10,000 euros are needed.

We believe that this school will become a centre of Orthodox education. It is the first Orthodox school within a radius of 700 kilometers.

Waiting for their school

The people there have expressed their joy to us and are eagerly awaiting its opening. In our Holy Metropolis, where there are Orthodox schools, they offer a good education and therefore many parents are interested in having their children attend them.

So please, if it is possible, help us to complete the school.

The construction of the Holy Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary is progressing. After sending the last building materials, the workers believe that in two months the Church will be ready, at least in terms of building, but they are trying to finish as early as possible.

I will try to keep you informed, so that you can then in turn inform donors.

I thank you warmly for your love and support for our Holy Metropolis.

God bless your work and your families.
The Centrist African Nikephoros
