The mission to the Pygmies has grown in recent years. Our Brotherhood has from the very beginning been instrumental in evangelizing the remote jungle of the Ubangi River, a tributary of the Congo. Unfortunately, due to financial difficulties, the sustainability of this effort is becoming questionable. Your support is essential for the continuation of the dawn of Orthodoxy in this region. |
Dear brothers and colleagues, Rejoice in the Lord always.
The past two weeks have helped me to be close to you, as I am sure you are with your prayers and your efforts to support me. Our newly created Diocese has no income to provide for its operation. Dependent solely on our pious Greek donors, it is experiencing the financial crisis many times over. I have never thought of leaving our priests without salaries or discontinuing the operation of our radio, nor have I ever thought of dismissing our school teachers and professors or the staff of our orphanage. I believe that God will not abandon us, nor will we abandon our faithful. Our poor brothers and sisters of Impfondo are waiting for you and I to continue the missionary work there by ministering, catechizing, baptizing, helping spiritually and materially those who receive your love at the same time as God’s grace and your gifts as gifts of heaven. Please from the bottom of my heart help me to visit and encourage this parish that you have adopted, for I cannot even afford the tickets. Living among our poor brothers and sisters poor we share “nothing” and live thanking the Lord for even His least gifts rejoicing and your love, even if it comes to us in the form of sincere promises that offer us hope. Will I be tiresome if I ask you to help us with the little pledged support for Impfondo, so that on arriving there it will be possible to receive and send you pictures of your beloved Pygmies? Always wishing you the Lord’s blessing and the practical support of your collaborators. With the love of Christ
