Bishop Ignatios of Pentapolis (previously of Central Africa)
Late bishop Ignatios of Pentapolis was born in 1930. He served the Orthodox Mission in Congo since 1997 and in 2003 he was ordained the bishop of Central Africa. In 2010 he resigned due to health reasons and the Patriarchate of Alexandria elected him the titular bishop of Pentapolis. However, he kept on serving the Mission in Kananga, Congo (DRC), till the end of his life. He fell asleep peacefully in 9 November, 2017, feastday of the namesake saint Nectarios, bishop of Pentapolis.
