Missionary Meetings at the Fraternity’s HQ

Last week we had the special blessing of receiving at the Orthodox Missionary Fraternity’s facilities three distinguished and tireless missionaries of the Orthodox Church, who serve with self-sacrifice and zeal at the ends of the earth.

First, His Eminence Metropolitan Constantine of Singapore of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, who bears the pastoral responsibility for missionary fields in 12 countries, including India and Indonesia, regions that the Fraternity has supported for decades. His Eminence informed us about the progress of the work in these countries, highlighting the challenges but also the promising prospects opening for Orthodoxy in Asia.

Subsequently, we were honored by the presence of His Eminence Metropolitan Theodosios of Kinshasa, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the members of the Board of Directors for the recent shipment of another container of humanitarian aid, as well as for the continuous financial support to the Orthodox Theological School, of which he serves as the Dean. He explained the increasing needs of his diocese, stemming from the continuous establishment of new parishes, as well as the significant difficulties faced by the only theological University of the Orthodox Church on the African continent.

Finally, the Fraternity’s offices were visited by His Eminence Metropolitan Daniel of Accra, with whom we discussed the progress of the medical clinic in Accra, whose construction is entirely funded by the Fraternity, as well as the container that we will send for the first time on June 22nd, full with 25 tonnes of food, ecclesiastical and medical supplies, school and other materials.

The distinguished visitors expressed warm gratitude to the Board of Directors for the continuous, multifaceted and substantial support of the missionary work. However, we owe to express our gratitude to them who are on the front lines of spiritual ministry, offering not only time and material means, but their very lives in service of the divine command “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.”

May the Lord strengthen them continuously in their noble and sacred ministry.
