The Mission in Southern Madagascar

His Grace Bishop Prodromos of Toliara and Southern Madagascar attended and spoke at the monthly February gathering of the Orthodox Missionary Fraternity.

After sharing his thoughts on how love guides our movements in the missionary and pastoral care of the Church, he emphasized that all social programs of the Diocese of Toliara cater to all people regardless of religion. Thus, those who come to the Orthodox Church do not do so for material benefits but because of the authenticity of the faith they see in it.

The Bishop thanked the Fraternity for its large contribution to the infrastructure of the Holy Diocese, while he expressed gratitude to the company Rontamil for the offer of infant milk powder worth 80,000 €.

Finally, he laid out his vision for a new orphanage in Mananjary, which will help save dozens of infants who so far end up without a family in the region.

Bishop Toliaras Prodromos has been leading the missionary efforts in southern Madagascar since his ordination in 2019.
