The Orthodox Foreign Missionary Brotherhood, following the decision of the Board of Directors of December 19, 2022, announces a scholarship for one (1) student from a country of African or Asian origin studying in Greece for postgraduate studies.
The scholarship will be given from the proceeds of the fund of independent management of the fund “ID 01: Office at 230 Lambraki Street” of the legacy of Aphrodite Porligis in memory of the University Professor Ioannis Porligis Charalambos.
OWNERS
The recipient of the scholarship will be one (1) person who cumulatively:
- is a student,
- has already enrolled in a postgraduate programme of study offered by an HEI with physical attendance in Greece,
- comes from a country in Africa or Asia,
- and is established in Greece.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Among several candidates, priority is given to the student who:
- He studies in Thessaloniki.
- Studies in a shorter semester.
- Has received the highest degree (6th level of education).
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
Interested parties are invited to apply online until 22 January 2023, by sending an email to office@ierapostoles.gr with the subject “Application for the Aphrodite Porligis Heritage Scholarship” and the following supporting documents:
- Registration certificate for postgraduate studies in a Greek University for the academic year 2022-2023
- Passport
- Residence permit or application for a residence permit

If there are more candidates, they will be invited for an interview by the Scholarship Committee in person at the Fraternity’s offices in Thessaloniki, 6 Mackenzie King Street, or by video call on Friday 27 January.
DECLARATION OF THE BENEFICIARY
The Scholarship Committee will meet on Monday 30 January 2023 and will announce the recipient of the scholarship and the shortlist of successful candidates. The recipient will be invited to sign a contract by February 14, 2023. In case of non-attendance, the next person on the list of successful candidates will be invited.
The beneficiary will receive a monthly stipend of €250, starting in January 2023. The payment will be subject to the submission of a certificate of studies every March, July and October and to the minimum duration of the programme not being exceeded.
